ch – chain
st(s) – stitch(es)
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
hdc blo – half double crochet back loop only
dc blo – double crochet back loop only
sl st – slip stitch
Pattern Notes:
- The initial chains do not count as a stitch.
- Be sure to fasten off and cut the yarn after each row finishes.
- To maintain straight edges, try to keep your tension consistent as you work on your blanket. Using stitch markers at the first and last stitch of each row can help ensure that you do not miss any stitches.
- If you prefer to avoid the hassle of weaving in ends all at once, try weaving them in as you go.

Prism Crochet Blanket Pattern
To start, using Color A, chain (118, 156)
Row 1 (right side): Begin in the 2nd chain from the hook by working 1 single crochet. Continue to place 1 single crochet in each chain across the row. Chain 2 and turn your work. (117, 155 stitches)
Row 2: Work 1 double crochet in the first stitch, then proceed to work 1 double crochet in the back loop of each stitch across until the last stitch, where you will complete 1 double crochet in the final stitch. Attach Color B, chain 1, and turn.
Row 3: Work 1 half double crochet in the first stitch, then continue with 1 half double crochet in the back loop of each stitch across until you reach the last stitch, where you will finish with 1 half double crochet in the final stitch. Attach Color A, chain 2, and turn.
Row 4: Work 1 double crochet in the first stitch, then follow with 1 double crochet in the back loop of each stitch across until the last stitch, finishing with 1 double crochet in the final stitch. Attach Color B, chain 1, and turn.
Continue to repeat rows 3 and 4 until your blanket reaches approximately (47 inches, 59 inches) or your desired length. Once you have reached the length you want, be sure to fasten off your work and weave in the ends. We will finish the blanket with a lovely border.
Adding the Border
Round 1: With the right side of the blanket facing up, attach Color B to the top left corner. Chain 1 and single crochet around the entire blanket. When you reach a corner, place 3 stitches in the corner. Continue around until you return to the starting corner, placing 3 stitches in that corner as well.
Note: As you crochet along the sides, it may be challenging to see your stitches clearly, but do your best. The exact stitch count is not critical.
Round 2: Slip stitch to the next stitch, chain 2, and double crochet in each stitch around the blanket. Again, when you reach a corner, place 5 stitches in that corner. Once you have circled back to the starting point, place 5 stitches in that corner. Slip stitch to the next stitch, fasten off your yarn, and weave in the ends.
