This Egg Coaster Crochet Pattern features a charming and uncomplicated design that is perfect for everyday use. Made with cotton yarn, these coasters offer excellent absorbency, durability, and are simple to maintain, making them an ideal choice for any home. The whimsical egg shape not only adds a playful element to your decor but also makes them a delightful handmade gift option for friends and family.
After crafting my adorable buttered toast coaster, I felt that creating an egg coaster was a natural progression. This pattern complements the toast coaster beautifully, and together they would form a delightful breakfast-themed coaster set, perfect if you decide to make both items.

Round 3: *Half double crochet increase, then half double crochet in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * around. (24 stitches)
Slip stitch to the first stitch of the next round, then fasten off and weave in your yarn ends.
Now, attach the white yarn.
Round 4: Chain 1 and work a half double crochet increase in the same stitch. Follow this with a half double crochet in the next 2 stitches. *Now, work a half double crochet increase in the next stitch, followed by a half double crochet in the next 2 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. (32 stitches)
Round 5: *Half double crochet increase, then half double crochet in the next 3 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around. (40 stitches)
Round 6: *Half double crochet increase, then half double crochet in the next 4 stitches.* Continue this pattern until you have 5 stitches remaining. Then, work a half double crochet increase in the first stitch, half double crochet in the next stitch, half double crochet increase in the next stitch, and half double crochet in the last stitch. (50 stitches)
Round 7: *Half double crochet in the first stitch, double crochet in the next stitch, work 3 double crochets in the next stitch, double crochet in the next stitch, half double crochet in the following stitch, and single crochet in the next 5 stitches.* Repeat from * to * around.
Finally, slip stitch to the first stitch of the next round, fasten off, and weave in any remaining ends. For a neater finish, consider using the invisible fasten-off technique.
