There is something truly remarkable about watching the sunset over a bustling city. The blend of soft, warm hues as they gradually transition into one another forms an exquisite skyline that captivates the senses. This breathtaking spectacle inspired my creation of the crochet Skyline Bobble Blanket, a project close to my heart. The various shades of yarn I selected evoke the stunning colors seen during a sunset, and I eagerly anticipated the opportunity to bring this vision to life in a cozy, textured blanket.

For this captivating design, I chose to work with Caron Blossoms Cake yarn, and my experience with it was incredibly enjoyable. The colors are absolutely stunning, creating a visual delight, while the texture remains wonderfully soft to the touch. I eagerly look forward to sharing this pattern with you, so you too can experience the joy of crafting your own sunset-inspired Skyline Bobble Blanket and feel the warmth it brings.

Skyline Bobble Blanket Sizing Notes
The pattern for the Skyline Bobble Blanket is designed to include two distinct sizes: a lapghan measuring 36 inches by 48 inches, and a throw size measuring 48 inches by 60 inches. These dimensions allow you the flexibility to make your blanket as large or as small as you desire. To achieve your preferred size, simply begin your chain in multiples of 4 plus 3 stitches, and then follow the crochet pattern until your blanket reaches the desired dimensions.
For your convenience, I also included a blanket sizing guide to help you select the right dimensions for your project.

Gauge (4 inches x 4 inches): The suggested gauge is approximately 11 stitches and 10 rows.
Size Adjustment Tips: To modify the width of your blanket, you can start with a longer or shorter chain. The pattern specifies a chain multiple of 4 plus 3 stitches. To adjust the size, simply chain in increments of 4 and add 3 stitches to that total. For instance, if you choose to chain 12, add 3 stitches to achieve a total of 15.
Always keep in mind your yarn requirements when making any adjustments to the size of your blanket.
Abbreviations (US):
ch – chain
st(s) – stitch(es)
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
dc5tog – double crochet 5 together (also referred to as the “bobble stitch”). For this stitch, yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, and pull through the first two loops on the hook. Repeat this process until you have six loops on the hook; then yarn over and pull through all loops to create the bobble.

Skyline Bobble Blanket Crochet Pattern
To get started, chain (103, 135).
Row 1: Skip the first three chains (this counts as 1 double crochet) and in the 4th chain, complete 1 double crochet. Continue to place 1 double crochet in each chain across the row. Finish by chaining 1 and turning your work. You should have (100, 132 stitches) at the end of this row.
Row 2: In this row, work 1 single crochet into each of the first two stitches. Then, you will create a bobble by yarn over and double crochet 5 together in the next stitch. After this, place 1 single crochet in each of the next three stitches. Repeat this sequence until you have two stitches remaining. Finally, work a bobble in the next stitch, place 1 single crochet in the last stitch, and then work 1 single crochet in the turning chain. Finish this row by chaining 3 and turning.
Row 3: Here, skip the first stitch and work 1 double crochet into each of the remaining stitches across the row. Complete this row by chaining 1 and turning.
Row 4: In this row, place 1 single crochet in the first four stitches. Create a bobble in the next stitch, and then work 1 single crochet in each of the next three stitches. Repeat this until you reach the end of the row, then place 1 single crochet in the turning chain. Chain 3 and turn your work.
Row 5: Again, skip the first stitch and work 1 double crochet into each stitch across the row. Complete this row by chaining 1 and turning.
Continue to repeat rows 2 to 5 until your blanket measures (50 inches, 60 inches) or until you reach your desired length.
